Renato Azara

Sardinian in his heart and soul, Renato began his career in the world of yachting in 1989. During these years he had the opportunity to understand this complex world and managed to meet the needs of ship owners and crews through his company, Sardinia Yacht Services, established in 2000.

Renato dedicates most of his spare time and energy into the organization of local conferences to connect and educate Sardinian and European agencies on the importance of supporting the needs of the nautical industry thanks to the business network, Navigo Sardegna, created in 2015. In 2016, Renato decided to embrace his passion which is sailing. That is where the Adelasia di Torres Foundation project was born, combining the SYS reality with the experience of some of the most talented European sailors in order to create a strong and winning sports team.

His lifelong experience in managing crew and yacht has driven Renato onto the podiums of some of the most prestigious international regattas like; the Rolex Giraglia Cup in 2016 and the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup in Porto Cervo in 2017. His next stop will be the participation in the America’s Cup to be held in Auckland in New Zealand in 2021. The passion and love for his native land, Sardinia, is the common denominator in all his projects.
